Self-esteem


What is self-esteem? Self-esteem is to love yourself. It is to think that you are a beautiful, great, important, valuable and unique human.

Having self-esteem means that the person accepts their qualities and defects. It also means that each person has to learn to forgive people’s errors.

The first step is very important, because being accepted is not easy. Many times people are very critical in relation to some qualities or defects that reflect our personality, and when these characteristics are not accept by our friends, family or other people, we may think and feel that we are not important, which causes low self-esteem.

The second step is also very important; forgiving is accepting the error of other people and our. Forgiving is to analyze and understand that giving the second opportunity is part of being great people. In this point is important to mention that forgiving is to forget with the heart and not with the thought.

There are two types of self-esteem: high self-esteem and low self-esteem. The high self-esteem is when the people love their personalities, body, thoughts, intellect, and their whole life. This people are considered like extrovert, because they are always happy and smiling, and are an example for their classmates, friends and families.

The low self-esteem is when the people think and feel that they are not important. This is caused by different circumstances, for example: the criticism, the gossip, the ridicule, and the humiliation. When this type of situation happens, is difficult to defend our point of view in front of others, leading to low self-esteem. To solve this, it is necessary that every day we make an effort to overcome unexpected.

Remember you are important, you are beautiful, you are great and you are unique. God created you and loves you with all your qualities and defects. That’s why you should look at yourself in the mirror every day and tell yourself: “I love you”.
